HISTORY OF THE AWARD:

Hungarian Kingdom Military Long Service Cross, first class for 20 years’ service - Bronze-gilt Leopold cross with loop for ribbon suspension; the face with a circular central medallion bearing the letters ‘XX’ (= 20) within a rolled edged border, the arms of the cross with stippled panels within beaded borders, the reverse is plain. The Decoration was instituted in 1920 to reward long and faithful service in the Hungarian armed forces and was issued in different versions for officers, for non-commissioned officers and for other ranks and for completion of various periods of service.
