HISTORY OF THE AWARD:

Saxony Kingdom Long Service Cross for 25 years’ Service for Officers (Dienstauszeichnungskreuz für 25 Dienstjahre der Offiziere) 1874-1918 - Gilt bronze cross pattée, the arms edged with three lines, with loop for ribbon suspension; the face with a circular central medallion bearing the crowned cipher of King Albert; the reverse with a circular central medallion bearing the Latin numerals ‘XXV.’ (25). The Cross was instituted by King Albert on 3 April 1874 to be awarded to officers on completion of 25 years active and exemplary service and was suppressed in 1918.
