Original German National Railway shoulder boards pair, VERY NICE CONDITION BUT THE BACKING'S GOT SOME REMAINING PAPER (IT SEEMS THEY WERE GLUED ON A PAPER BEFORE) - RARE SHOULDER BOARDS - NOT EASY TO FIND

HISTORY OF THE AWARD:

DEUTSCHES REICHSBAHN SHOULDER BOARDS (Schulterklappen) - In 1933 they began a restructuring of the national railway system and by early 1937 had succeeded in achieving a centralized efficient National Railway. With this restructuring new uniforms and insignia were introduced for railway personnel in 1933. Additional items of insignia were introduced and modified at various times throughout the war. First pattern shoulder boards as introduced in June 1936. Sew on boards for established officials of Pay Groups 8 and 7a. Bright yellow braid with small blue "V"s to the two outer and inner braids on a red wool base.
