Original German / Saxony post WW1 Medal for Loyalty in Work, Chamber of Industry and Trade, Chemnitz (Medaille Für Treue in der Arbeit, Industrie-und Handelskammer Chemnitz), IN NICE CONDITION, GOOD DETAILED EXAMPLE ON GENUINE BUT FADED TRIFOLD RIBBON, A VERY ATTRACTIVE AWARD, DIMENSIONS OF THE AWARD: cca 37 x 24 mm 

HISTORY OF THE AWARD:

Saxony Medal for Loyalty in Work, Chamber of Industry and Trade, Chemnitz (Medaille Für Treue in der Arbeit, Industrie-und Handelskammer Chemnitz) by Karl Goetz of Munich - Oval bronze medal with integral loop for ribbon suspension; the face with the full-length figure of a blacksmith, his head turned to the right, a hammer in his right hand, the head resting on the ground with his right foot on it, his left hand resting on the eagle prow of a ship, stylised waves below, circumscribed ‘FÜR TREUE IN DER ARBEIT’ (for loyalty in work), signed ‘K. GOETZ’ for Karl Goetz of Munich; the reverse inscribed ‘INDUSTRIE / UND / HANDELS / KAMMER/ PLAUEN’, crossed sprigs of laurel below; on original trifold ribbon in the Saxon colours, mounted for wear. The medal would have been awarded for long and faithful service in the same enterprise. Chemnitz is a city in Saxony, eastern Germany. Karl Goetz of Munich produced medals of similar design for many German Chambers of Industry and Commerce.
