HISTORY OF THE AWARD:

Bavarian Fire Service Merit Cross (Bayern Feuerwehr Ehrenzeichen) - Awarded for meritorious services to firefighting at the Bavarian Fire Service. Constructed of gilded bronze, on loop for suspension, ribbon with horizontal pinback, measuring 38 mm (w) x 52 mm (h). Ribbon: light blue with white edges, white edge stripes and two narrow white central stripes. There are three grades: Bronze - for 25 years' service, Silver for 40 years' service & Gold for 50 years' service.
